This Nature-ceuticals Symposium is dedicated to the memory of

Akifumi Higurashi, BS, RPh, ScD

Until his passing in May 2007, Mr. Higurashi (or Aki as he was known to his friends) was the President and Chairman of the Board of Maruzen Pharmaceuticals, Co. Ltd., Onomichi, Japan

This symposium exists largely because of Aki's vision and determination to enhance the health and well being of everyone in the world. In particular, it was his friendship and support of the Albany College of Pharmacy over the past decade which was the catalyst for this symposium.

Aki, you are dearly missed by all who knew your friendship. We humbly dedicate this symposium on Nature-ceuticals to your memory.
